Snow Girl Bauble!

Remember my Santa Bauble? I still loved the idea of crocheting over an actual bauble! It’s such a nice way to spruce up those tired old boring baubles! I went to many MANY thrift stores and charity shops to find the perfect second hand (usually plastic – at least those don’t break…) Christmas baubles and came back with many MANY sacks of baubles for practically no money!

And per usual I was inspired to make something for a special occassion: it’s almost like I can’t crochet something without knowing I will give it away… This time, the occassion was the Relief Society (which is the women’s organization of my church) Christmas celebration. We all filled a small tea tray with things that said something about us personally. Each sister would then unwrap one of those presents and try to guess whose it was. And she got to keep the goodies ofcourse! It was so much fun and we really got to know each other better.

One of the items on my little tray was this snowgirl bauble. She represented both Christmas ánd my love for my crochet hobby. Let’s take a closer look at this little cutie!

I really enjoyed making this snow girl bauble! I used parts of the pattern of the Santa bauble for the top part and improvised the rest: the “skirt”, nose, bow tie and hat.
The sister that ended up with my tray is also an avid crocheter. She has made many presents for us sisters for Mother’s Day etc. She proudly showed my little snow girl bauble hanging in her home when I visited her once. I’m glad this little creation found such a loving home!
Want to make your own? I’m thinking about writing out the entire pattern, so stay tuned! If you can’t wait, try to improvise on the Santa bauble like I did.

Happy crocheting!

Want to make your own? Sorry, I just improvised this one, so there’s no link to share to the actual pattern I used. But THIS ONE is even better! Just make the white brim a little wider so you can fold it over and replace the little ball on the end with a small pompom. I’m sure you’ll be able to adapt it to the size and style you need.

This Christmas time I decided to put Santa hats on all my crocheted critters. Just because! You know, for reasons! So I measured every little head of my animals and made some fluffy Santa hats from old dressing gowns. I’m not the best at sewing, but I was quite pleased with the result!

Today I’m showing you: my Christmas Santa Lamb! Ain’t he the cutest?
And: He’s for sale (including the hat, should you want it!). Head over HERE to find out more!

Another cancer fund Christmas auction make: This little Santa bauble! I loved it so much I decided to keep it and donate the money to the cancer charity. Worth every cent! My ambition is to fill a giant Christmas tree with baubles like this one (but ofcourse with other “characters”). I just love the originality of this design! (link at the end of this blogpost). The original design is even cuter: Santa is holding a little teddy bear! MELT…. I can’t even!

I love crochet. And I love Christmas. And the combination of these two loves is paradise for me! I crocheted this little reindeer amigurumi doll to sell for a great cause: cancer research. A couple of crochet friends and me organized an Christmas crochet auction for the cancer fund. And this little guy found a new home with some great generous people. Makes for an extra merry Christmas!
