Yes! A free amigurumi Halloween witch crochet pattern! And it’s cute too! This free Halloween crochet pattern is quite easy to make and it works up fairly quickly. Let’s get started crocheting for Halloween!
Materials:
- Yarn: choose colors for A – skin, B – hair and skirt trim, and C – hat, skirt and shoes. I’ve used acrylic yarn (with crochet hook size 3 – 3.5), and my little witch turned out about 22 cm (8.5 inches) tall.
- Crochet hook: make sure it is the right size for your chosen yarn.
- Safety eyes: I’ve used size 8 mm.
- Fiberfill (or old pillow stuffing) for stuffing.
- Tapestry or sewing needle.
- Scissors.
Abbreviations:
sc = single crochet
mc = magic circle
dc = double crochet
inc = 2 sc in one stitch
dec = sc 2 stitches together
FLO = front loop only
(12) = number of stitches you should have at the end of the round/row
(…) x6 = repeat the instruction between the brackets the number of times indicated
Legs (make 2)
Start with yarn color C. Work in crochet spiral.
Round 1: 7 sc in mc (7)
Round 2: 7 sc (7)
Change to yarn color A.
Round 3-8: 7 sc (7)
Fasten off. No need to leave a long yarn tail.
Body
Attach yarn color C to one of the legs.
Chain 4 stitches and join to the other leg with a slip stitch.
Continue crocheting the body in a spiral.
Round 9: 2 sc, inc, 9 sc, inc, 7 sc (20)
Round 10-13: 20 sc (20)
Round 14: 2 sc, dec, 9 sc, dec, 7 sc (18)
Round 15-16: 18 sc (18)
Round 17: (1 sc, dec) x6 (12)
Round 18-22: 12 sc (12)
Fasten off. No need to leave a long yarn tail.
Head
Use yarn color A.

Attach safety eyes where you want them. I have put mine between rounds 17 and 18, with about 6 stitches in between.

Round 3: (1 sc, inc) x6 (18)
Round 4: (1 sc, inc, 1 sc) x6 (24)
Round 5: (3 sc, inc) x6 (30)
Round 6-10: 30 sc (30)
Round 11: 7 sc, (for the long hair: chain 13, crochet back on the chain, starting from the 2nd stitch from hook: (1 sc, inc) x6. 1 sc in next stitch and start the next 13 stitch chain. Make 11 long hair strands.) Continue on making the bangs by crocheting further around: 7 dc. Finish off with slipstitch in the base stitch of 1st long hair strand. (30)
Fasten off, leave a long yarn tail for sewing.
Arms (make 2)
Use yarn color A.
Round 1: 6 sc in mc (6)
Round 2-11: 6 sc (6)
Fasten off, leave a long tail for sewing.
Skirt
Use yarn color C.
Before you chain the yarn, make sure to leave a long initial yarn tail.
This will make sewing the skirt to the body a lot easier.
Round 1: Chain 18, join in ring with slipstitch. This will create the width of your skirt. Make sure to measure on your doll to see if it fits and if not, adjust the number of chained stitches.
Round 2: (inc) x18 (36)
Round 3-5: 36 sc (36)
Change to yarn color B:
Round 6: 5 dc in one stitch, skip 2 sc, slipstitch, 5 dc in one stitch (repeat to the end of the round, you may have to adjust the number of skipped sc a bit to fit in your last ruffle). With my measurements, I’ve been able to fit in 9 ruffles.
Fasten off.
Hat
Use yarn color C.
Round 1: 3 sc in mc (3)
Round 2: (inc) x3 (6)
Round 3: (1 sc, inc) x3 (9)
Round 4: (2 sc, inc) x3 (12)
Round 5-7: 12 sc (12)

Fasten off, leave yarn tail for sewing.
Assembly
Sew all the parts together.
If you want you can embroider some eyelashes or eyebrows and add some further witchy bling (I didn’t)!
