The crochet pattern for this cute amigurumi Christmas bear is completely free! And with his little hat, he is absolutely adorable too! What a sweetie!
Materials
- Yarn – I used acrylic yarn (brown, black, red, white).
- Crochet hook that matches the yarn size – I used hook size 3mm.
- Safety eyes – I used size 12 mm.
- Stuffing.
- Tapestry needle for sewing the parts together.
- Scissors.
Abbreviations Of Crochet Terms
mc = magic circle
ch = chain
st = stitch
sl st = slip stitch
sc = single crochet
dc = double crochet
inc = 2 sc in the next stitch
dec = single crochet 2 stitches together
BLO = back loop only
(x) = number of stitches you should have at the end of the round/row
(…)*x = repeat whatever is between the brackets the number of times stated
Eyes
With white yarn:
Round 1: 8 sc in magic ring (8)
Round 2: 8 inc (16)
Round 3: (1 sc, inc) x8 (24)
Close round 3 with slip stitch.
Fasten off, leave yarn tail for sewing.
Nose
With black yarn:
Round 1: chain 6, starting from the second loop from the hook: 4 sc, 3 sc in the last stitch.
Continue on the other side of the chain: 3 sc, 1 inc (12)
Round 2: inc, 3 sc, 3 inc, 3 sc, 2 inc (18)
Round 3: 1 sc, 1 inc, 3 sc, (1 sc, inc) x3, 3 sc, (1 sc, inc) x2 (24)
Round 4: (sc, dec) x8 (16)
Finish off round 4 with a slip stitch.
Fasten off, leave yarn tail for sewing.
Legs & Body
With brown yarn:
Round 1: 6 sc in magic ring (6)
Round 2: (1 sc, inc) * 3 (9)
Round 3: 9 sc (9)
Round 4: (2 sc, inc) * 3 (12)
Round 5-8: 12 sc (12)
Fasten off the first lower leg. Crochet the second one, don’t fasten off that one, but continue crocheting the body.
Continue from the second leg, chain 6.
Attach to the first leg:

Stuff as you go!
I find it easiest to finish all the sewing (and attaching the safety eyes) before fully stuffing the bear. The eyes were sewn between rounds 39 and 45 and attached the safety eyes. The nose was sewn on in between the eyes. It is probably easiest to start stuffing the nose before you finish sewing. This way the stuffing doesn’t fall out while sewing!

Fasten off, use the tapestry needle to close the remaining hole.
Arms
With brown yarn:
Round 1: 6 sc in magic ring (6)

Don’t fasten off.
Don’t stuff the arms.
Fold the opening of the arms and close them by 4 sc.
Fasten off, leave yarn tail for sewing.
Ears
With brown yarn:
Row 1: 6 sc in magic ring (6)
Row 2: Turn, 5 inc (10)
Row 3: Chain 1, turn, 10 sc (10).
Fasten off, leave a yarn tail for sewing.
Little Hat
With red yarn:
Round 1: 6 sc in magic ring (6)
Round 2: (2 sc, inc) *2 (8)
Round 3: (3 sc, inc) *2 (10)
Round 4: 10 sc (10)

Decorate the little hat with a white pompom or jingle bell!
Assembly & Finishing Touches
Sew the arms and the ears to the body.
You can add embroidered eyebrows or eyelashes if you want. Or little felt cheeks and a mouth. Or make him a snuggly scarf! The possibilities are endless!
I decorated my little bear by letting him hold a string of tiny Christmas baubles! He looks so festive with his little hat!
